That Welke ejection was hilarious. Bases loaded. Borderline outside pitch called a strike. Escobar critiqued the call, which wasfine. But then he...kept saying things! Even as he was getting back in the box to await the next pitch, he kept repeating "Ball was out...Ball was out...Ball was out...Ball was out..." over and over again. So naturally, Welke got fed up and threw him out, which...yeah...I often think umpires' fuses are too short, but that would have been irritating AF and I probably would have done the same thing. Yet Escobar is shocked...SHOCKED, I tell you...by the ejection that he very clearly provoked.

No way to see that last one in real time, no replays back then, unfortunately for how “bang bang” that was, and the fact literally every runner actually steps on the bag and doesn’t kick it, it was the correct call given the fact you’d have to have an eagle eye to see what had happened in real time
